Mode
Select creation mode gives Reference to video, Image to video, and Video editing. Reference asks for 1–9 pictures. Generate video on the homepage also marks First frame and Text. I would not hop all three in one clip without a reason.
HappyHorse after a night in the studio: references, a first frame, and clip edits
I opened www.happyhorse.com and landed in a dark composer, not a marketing essay. “Ride your imagination” sits above the box; Featured and Discover sit below. These notes are mine after that visit. They are not their homepage.
The mode chip was already on Reference to video, the version chip on HH 1.1, settings on 16:9, 720P, 5s. Generate sat next to them. I am not selling that layout as the only way to shoot — only as what the product showed that evening.
Discover feed
Five clips I downloaded from happyhorse.com
Every card below is a file from their CDN, not stock and not a cover made to fill a grid. I opened a Discover card, saved that mp4 and that clip’s poster. Captions name the scene on the frame and the duration the file itself reported.
The composer already sits on Reference to video
If you want the same screen I opened, it is not this page — only a local note and a text link to the studio.
After the visit
What HappyHorse is
HappyHorse is a consumer video studio at www.happyhorse.com. The browser document title reads “HappyHorse AI Video Generator | Create AI Videos From Text & Images.” The on-page headline does not hide the product behind a metaphor: “HappyHorse, Ride your imagination.” Under it: “Capture every fleeting spark. Let's gallop into reality.” I read that as studio tone, not a promise that any prompt becomes cinema.
A narrow column on the left: Studio, Home, Assets, Generate, a Try for $1 badge, Log in, CLI, Creation Guide. In the center, the field “Upload 1–9 images and describe how to use them in video,” with the example of a character from @Image1 walking into the scene of @Image2. That is Reference to video, the default mode the evening I sat there. The list under the composer names two doors: “Generate video — Reference / First frame / Text” and “Edit video — Modify video details.”
/creation says the same in other words: “Turn your ideas and images into AI videos with HappyHorse. Generate videos from text prompts, photos and images. Create cinematic videos, ads and creative content with AI.” Generate Video there is Image to video and Reference to video; Video editing stands apart. Text, photos, and references are inputs to a clip, not a second stills factory. I do not add image generation as its own product: on the screens I opened, a picture is raw material for video.
The live product is the official HappyHorse website. This page is my notebook. Version pages live in the model catalog, and Reference to video, Image to video, and text each have their own URL because that is how the studio splits the work, not because I needed to fill a grid.
How I would start
Three steps that already sit on screen
This is not a secret pipeline. It is the order of controls I saw in the composer and on /cli.
Step 2
Version and frame
Select model version: Happy Horse 1.1 or Happy Horse 1.0. Select generation settings that evening showed 16:9, 720P, 5s, and “1.” Discover cards already showed 1080P and 15s — so the studio ships those lengths even when the composer default is shorter and lower.
Step 3
Generate or CLI
In the browser, the button is Generate. For an agent, /cli asks you to Install CLI, copy the command, and log into a HappyHorse account inside the agent. That is another door into the same generation, not a third model.
Two product doors
Groups the studio places side by side
On the homepage and on /creation the product splits into generation and editing. I did not find extra sections like music or chat — and I am not inventing them.
Video generation
Reference / First frame / Text on the homepage; on /creation — Image to video and Reference to video. That is the composer, not a gallery of other people’s films.
Video editing
A menu item and the line “Edit video — Modify video details.” Work on a clip that already exists, not a second generator from scratch.
Scenarios from the screen
Why I would open the studio
Reference to video
Up to nine pictures and explicit @Image1 / @Image2 in the prompt. It makes sense when the character, product, or location already exists as a still.
Image to video
The neighboring mode, plus First frame from the Generate video list. One frame as the start of motion, without a pack of references.
Text to video
/creation says it outright: generate from text prompts. On the homepage that is the word Text in the trio Reference / First frame / Text.
CLI and agents
A separate /cli page: a command into an agent, a HappyHorse login, generation outside a single browser tab.

The second item in the same selector. A live previous version in the studio, not an archive page I invented.

Three ways into a clip
Text, a first frame, and a pack of references are named on the homepage and on /creation. You do not have to guess whether the studio takes photos: the upload field on Reference to video is part of the first screen.
The version is in view
Happy Horse 1.1 and Happy Horse 1.0 are not buried in a footer. You can pick which one turns the clip, and you do not mix them up with someone else’s lineup.
Frame and length as settings
16:9 and 720P sit in the settings chip. I saw 1080P on finished Discover cards and in the Standard / Pro copy. 5s is the composer default; 15s are live clips in the feed.
Editing and an agent door
Video editing is its own mode, not a footnote. CLI is a separate page with install steps. Those are two different ways to stay inside HappyHorse, not two modules I invented.

People who already hold character or product stills
Reference to video literally asks for 1–9 images. If you have no source stills, that mode is an empty field, not magic from thin air.
People making a short ad or cinematic clip
/creation names cinematic videos, ads and creative content. The Featured feed is full of ad and game titles — that is a community showcase, not a case I invented.
People editing a clip that already exists
Video editing / Modify video details. If you only need generation from scratch, you can skip that item. If you need to move a detail, it sits in the same selector.
People wiring an agent or a pipeline
API & CLI, a command into an agent, a HappyHorse account login. Browser Generate does not disappear because of that.
Mode is chosen before Generate
Reference, Image to video, or Video editing is not a hidden “pro” menu — it is the first chip in the composer.

Short answers on what I clicked
HappyHorse is a studio for generating and editing video. The homepage headline is “HappyHorse, Ride your imagination,” with “Capture every fleeting spark. Let's gallop into reality.” underneath. The composer offers Reference to video, Image to video, and Video editing, version HH 1.1, a 16:9 frame, 720P, and a 5s length. That is the product I opened in the browser, not a rumor from another vendor.
Select model version on the homepage expands to Happy Horse 1.1 marked New and Happy Horse 1.0. The compact chip reads HH 1.1. No other names were in that menu, so the catalog only has those two. I wrote them up as Happy Horse 1.1 and Happy Horse 1.0.
Reference to video asks you to upload 1–9 images and describe how to use them: “Use the character in @Image1, walking into the scene of @Image2.” Image to video is the next item in the same menu; /creation groups it with Reference to video as Generate Video. The homepage list also names Text: clips from a written prompt. More on that in the Reference to video notes.
The live product I opened is the official HappyHorse website at www.happyhorse.com. /creation, /subscription, /cli, and /pricing live there too. This site is independent notes, not an account or a checkout.
Video editing in the mode menu is for changing details in a clip; the homepage list says “Edit video — Modify video details.” On /subscription I read Free with daily login credits and up to two parallel generations, Standard with a priority queue, batch generation, watermark removal, and 1080P, and Pro with unlimited parallel jobs. You can buy credits without a subscription. Live prices belong on the official site.
The /cli page is titled HappyHorse API & CLI. The heading: “Use HappyHorse in any agent with CLI command.” Steps: Install CLI, copy the command into your agent, complete HappyHorse account login in the agent, and create from any setting. The install note is https://happyhorse.com/install-cli.md. That is a developer door, not a replacement for Generate on the homepage.

Happy Horse 1.1 sits first, and Happy Horse 1.0 was not removed. I am calmer when the previous version is an explicit pick, not something I have to hunt in “legacy.”

Image to video and First frame are one family for me: one frame, then motion. 720P in the settings chip is an honest default; I saw 1080P on the Standard and Pro plans.
